Asset modeling defines how the physical world is represented in the system. A good model is detailed enough to support work, risk, and traceability, but not so complex that nobody can maintain or use it consistently.

This matters because every downstream control depends on the model being believable. If the structure is wrong, tasks, permits, inspections, and documents all inherit the same confusion.
